The Journey

Featuring Sophie Turner

Meet the stars

    • Sophie Turner

Sophie Turner talks personal style and shares her favourite piece from our AW14 collection behind the scenes on the set of our fashion film The Journey.

    • Lara and Brogan

We caught up with British models of the moment Lara Mullen and Brogan Loftus to talk off-duty style and their modelling journey so far.

  • How did you start?

I was discovered through my school. I mean I wasn’t necessarily discovered; I just auditioned for Game of Thrones. They actually liked me so they called me back four or five times. It was the best moment of my life so far because I’ve wanted to be an actress since I was three so it was like… it finally happened!

What’s it like to be the star of the Karen Millen AW14 campaign?

Everyone knows Karen Millen. It’s incredible. I’m so excited to be a part of it.

How do you feel about being shot by Glen?

It’s really exciting to be shot by Glen because he’s done such good campaigns. He’s done Yves Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein. He’s a big inspiration for a lot of photographers out there so it’s quite exciting to work with such talent.

What’s your favourite piece from the collection?

The faux fur black coat. It’s incredible. It’s massive!

    What are your fashion rules?

For me, I pretty much think anything goes. Some people say things like double denim or socks with sandals shouldn't be done but chances are it's all going to come into fashion at some point so I don't have any rules. If it's not in fashion now, it probably will be in the next 10-20 years. So it just means that you're ahead of the game.

    What is your signature look?

I'm still trying to figure it out. I'm exploring every kind of style and seeing what works for me. One day I want to put on black ripped jeans and a black leather jacket with red lips and then the next day I'll want to wear a pretty summer dress. I like the idea of not being able to pin my style down.

  • How did you get into modelling?

I was discovered by my agency in a pub in Northampton when I was 17. And then a week later I was discovered by them again at a music festival!

What’s it like to be one of the faces of the Karen Millen AW14 campaign?

It’s really exciting because it’s a brand that everyone knows. It’s something my friends and family will recognise and it will be seen by lots of people.

How would you describe your style?

My style is a bit grungy I suppose. I like a ripped jean with a shirt. I like something that can take you from day to night so you don’t have to go home and change.

  • How did you get into modelling?

    I was discovered when I was 11.

What’s it like to be one of the faces of the Karen Millen AW14 campaign?

For me, Karen Millen is the ultimate luxurious, affordable brand. Being shot by Glen is amazing. The location is really cool and yeah, it’s been a good day. Karen Millen is obviously an amazing brand. To be one of their faces is great.

What is your favourite piece from the collection?

My favourite piece from today is actually this dress I’m wearing, this lacey little number! It’s so tailored and so nice.

How would you describe your style?

I would define my personal style as laid back.
